VotingMatters Election Forum: Tues 10/27 5:30 PM at California Lutheran University, Thousand Oaks.

Available for a $18015/month donation.

We invite you to join us Tuesday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m. on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks for a forum to discuss the upcoming midterm election. Together with you, we will share a civil, issue-focused conversation that promises to be informative and an example of democracy in action.

KCLU is hosting this non-partisan voter education event with CalMatters CEO, Neil Chase, where community members come together in person and engage in civic dialogue about the issues that matter to them as Californians. Some of the topics we'll be covering include the governor's race, 14 propositions to change state law, and weighing in on races and measures specific to your community.

For example, one of the most important races is for insurance commissioner. This role affects all Californians, including how we respond to climate change and natural disasters. We'll be discussing that and propositions that will change the lives of many Californians, including voter identification requirements, revisions to tax laws, and expanded access to low-cost mortgages.
Please join us and CalMatters to give you the information you need to make your vote count.

This is for a pair of tickets.

Brian McDonald reprises his award-winning performance as Alex, an out-of-work actor, who lands the strangest gig of his life: working in the private shopping mall that Barbra Streisand built in the basement of her Malibu estate. As he tends to the antique doll shop, gift wrapping station, and frozen yogurt counter in the deserted mall, his only customer is Barbra herself.

What begins as a surreal job becomes an unexpected friendship as Alex navigates the absurd reality of playing shopkeeper to one of the world’s biggest stars in this Drama Desk winner for Best Play.

This solo comedy by Jonathan Tolins is a witty, warm, and wonderfully theatrical meditation on celebrity, consumerism, and the price of living in someone else’s fantasy.

State Street Ballet, Santa Barbara’s only professional ballet company, presents the world premiere of Dracula, a dark shadow, October 30 and 31 at Santa Barbara’s Granada Theatre.

Created by French choreographer Nicolas Blanc [BLAHNK], this new, full-length ballet reimagines Bram Stoker’s classic story, with a score by Philip Glass performed live onstage by the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet.

Kronos and Glass previously collaborated on a score for the 1931 film, Dracula. Now, the music returns to the story in a new production featuring the artists of State Street Ballet.
